Janjgir

Janjgir-Champa is located 65 kilometres away from Bilaspur and about 175 kilometres from Raipur, the capital of the state (by road). It is popularly assumed as the Heart of Chhattisgarh as it is located at the centre of the state of Chhattisgarh. This district is the prime producer of food grains in Chhattisgarh. The district headquarter of Janjgir belonging to the Janjgir-Champa district, is the place of Maharaja Jaajawalya Dev of the renowned Kulchury Empire. The Vishnu mandir (temple), standing as an antique arty symbol of the Vaishnav community, reveals the glorious historical era of this district. The Hasdeobango irrigational project has proved to be a blessing for the residents of the neighbouring areas, which will comprise approximately 3/4th region of the district under irrigational facilities.
