Kawardha

Kawardha is a city and a borough in the state of Chhattisgarh. It is generally known for its hilly areas and dense woods. The place takes pride in its natural panoramic view – lush green woods, cluster of hills, tranquil surroundings with a rich endowment of flora and fauna and above all, the tribal societies dwelling in this area. There is a palace, the Kawardha Palace situated in the city. The palace was constructed by Maharaja Dharmaraj Singh during the 1936-39 phases. It is a serene and peaceful land condoned by the Maikal hill range. It strikes a chord and jogs one’s memory bringing notes on the place’s rich cultural lineage.  The place has been associated with the Kabir Panth movement. Old Kawardha hosts remnants of an old fort established by King Rajpal Singh.
